Conservative Volleyball Player Cancelled For Having A Different Thought Process

A story caught my eye earlier in the week. I waited to write about it until now because I needed time to fully gather my thoughts.

Kylee McLaughlin was a volleyball player for the University of Oklahoma. Now she isn’t.

It didn’t matter how good of an athlete she was once her team found out she was a “racist and a homophobe.” In other words, all of her liberal teammates found out she was a conservative. This is the go-to attack for liberals when they have no real argument. Every conservative is a racist, xenophobic, homophobic, islamophobic, sexist bigot. Hillary Clinton made that clear when we were all lumped into her “basket of deplorables” in 2016. McLaughlin’s team did what all liberals do in this situation. They canceled her.

What got McLaughlin into this position? After the death of George Floyd last summer, her team was made to watch a documentary called “13th.” She made the mistake of using common sense and data when she was asked what her thoughts were about the documentary. Big mistake…

She had the audacity to point out that the documentary was biased. It swung (not at all surprisingly) left. It’s not possible to get unbiased information anymore, and this is ESPECIALLY true for college campuses. If there is one place that you should be able to find hard facts, it should be at school, right? Wrong. That’s not how it works anymore. If you want real information, you’re going to have to go out and find it yourself. Your professors, and most of your peers, will be of no assistance. If the truth really matters to you, then it becomes your job to seek it.

It’s wrong that schools show these kinds of things to students in the first place. It’s perfectly normal that everyone has different opinions, but you’re not supposed to teach opinions.

Personal opinions are developed through facts, not the other way around. If we could (very simply) figure this out, our world would not be so confused and sensitive.

McLaughlin had the audacity to point out facts. That’s it.

During a team discussion on June 11, 2020, the players were required to watch the 2016 documentary “13th” about the incarceration of blacks in the US and slavery, according to the report.

McLaughlin claims in her lawsuit that the documentary was slanted “left,” “took some shots” at former President Donald Trump and “compared it with beatings of blacks in the 1960s.”

When asked about her thoughts, McLaughlin said, she stated “that she agreed 100% that slavery was wrong and the slaves were mistreated; and, that statistics showed that.”

She also noted the disproportionate incarceration rates for blacks and said they were jailed “mostly for marijuana and drugs,” her lawsuit states.

At least one black fellow player later indicated she found McLaughlin’s comments to be racist, according to the document.

This is where the train always comes loose from the tracks. We’ve forgotten the true meaning of racism. I know that all of you reading this already realize the point I’m making, but I’m going to make it anyway. A racist is someone who believes that their race is superior to every other race. The label of racist does not apply specifically to white people, though the left would like you to believe that it does. It is extremely rare to find someone who thought slavery was terrific. It’s equally rare to find someone who thought the treatment of African Americans during the Civil Rights Movement was a good thing for our country. People who believe that are racists. Do you know who did believe that? Robert Byrd. Who gave the man’s EULOGY? That’s right… Joe Biden.

When did it become punishable to simply have a different opinion? The fact that we’re even having to discuss this right now is utterly ridiculous. The stench of group think is becoming overpowering. Just because you think one way doesn’t mean I have to. We can actually have different views on something and still be respectful to each other. Especially when there’s nothing actually racist about your argument. It’s called being an adult, which I guess no one knows how to do anymore.

McLaughlin had the intelligence to transfer instead of sticking around for a team and school that despised her simply because she had a different thought process. She’s in the process of suing her former school and coaches. I hope she wins.
