On Tuesday night’s episode of “The Voice,” Blake Shelton tried to hit his fellow coach Kelly Clarkson with a low blow, but she made sure that it did not end well for him.
Things got messy when contestant Gean Garcia, 19, was up for grabs, and Shelton used his block on newcomer Nick Jonas, who replaced Gwen Stefani for this season. Jonas was shocked by the move, saying, “I’m having a tough time here. I thought they were going to play nice. But it turns out, Blake’s a bully.”
In typical Shelton style, he claimed it wasn’t him who threw out the block.
“If I was the guy who blocked Nick, it’s only because I’m that passionate about your voice,” Shelton pleaded to Garcia, at which time Clarkson joked, “Do you want to be on a liar’s team?”
With Jonas out of the way, Shelton set his sights on undermining Clarkson in the hopes that Garcia would choose him over her. He claimed that Clarkson “doesn’t really have time for this,” since she’s also juggling her daily daytime talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” He also claimed that she’s “completely gone Hollywood now” and “forgot her roots.”
Shelton quickly learned the hard way that messing with Clarkson was a mistake.
“I have time to do it all and nail it while doing it,” Clarkson fired back, adding that it is “ironic” that Shelton was “trying to serve us up on a Hollywood platter” considering he’s “always the one on covers of magazines and he’s dating Gwen Stefani.”
In the end, this was of course all in good fun, and Garcia chose to go with Clarkson as his coach.

While Clarkson certainly is juggling it all very well, it can’t be denied that she has a lot on her place. On top of her duties on “The Voice” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she is also in the middle of a bitter divorce with her husband Brandon Blackstock, with whom she has two young children.
Nevertheless, Clarkson has shown the world what a strong woman she really is over the past year, so Garcia probably made the right choice in going with her as his coach!
