President Trump Says Some U.S. Cities Akin To ‘Living In Hell’

In an interview on Thursday with Sean Hannity of Fox News that touched on several topics, President Trump commented on the crime rate in Democratic-controlled urban centers, John Bolton, and new revelations that Democrats knew from the beginning that the charge of Russian collusion was false.

As murder rates soar in Democrat-run cities the president said, “Chicago is an example, it is worse than Afghanistan These cities, it’s like living in hell.”

Chicago is a target for the president’s ire after the city saw 18 murders in one day. That made May 31 the city’s deadliest day in 60 years.

Baltimore and Detroit have seen their murder rates grow to unprecedented numbers in 2020, with Baltimore recording 159 murders to date and Detroit seeing a 30 percent increase in homicides as of June 18 with 129 killings.

The correlation between Democratic-controlled cities and rampant crime and poverty is a national phenomenon and has been a truism for many decades.

But GOP mayors have turned that around when they had the chance.

One tactic that changed New York for the better in the early 1990s was stop and frisk. The president agrees with it: “It’s very controversial to stay, stop and frisk. You take guns away… Rudy Giuliani was a great mayor. He did it in New York.”

The president was not so complimentary to John Bolton: “He didn’t do a good job. He wasn’t smart. He wasn’t sharp… He’s the only man I think I ever met—I knew him for a year—I don’t think I ever saw him smile once. I said to him, ‘John, do you ever smile?’ And, it tells you something about somebody.”

Trump seemed incredulous that Joe Biden, a man with a serious communication handicap, was the presumptive Democrat nominee: “It’s so crazy what’s happening. Here’s a guy who doesn’t talk. Nobody hears him. Whenever he does talk, he can’t put two sentences together. I don’t want to be nice or un-nice. I mean, the man can’t speak.”

As if to prove Trump correct once again, Biden on Thursday made a gaffe during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania when he said 120 million people in the United States had died from coronavirus.

There are approximately 328 million people in the United States as of 2019. Thus according to Biden, more than one third of them are now dead.

As per recent news on the charges laid against him by the Democrats of colluding with the Russians:

“We have Schumer and Pelosi and people that are bad people that I honestly believe don’t love our country. What they do to our country and what they’ve done with this scam… Now it came out that Mueller should have announced in the first week that we did nothing wrong. They had evidence in the first few days that there was no collusion with Russia. There was nothing to do with Russia. They knew that immediately.”

As the president gears up for the fall election, these themes will likely be heard again on the campaign trail.
