Speaking on Tuesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had a little fun with reporters, saying that there would be a smooth transition of power.

To a second Trump administration.

Pompeo: “We’re Ready – The World Is Watching”

Secretary of State Pompeo was taking questions from journalists at a press conference, and was asked whether the State Department was “currently preparing to engage with the Biden transition team, and if not, at what point does a delay hamper a smooth transition, or pose a risk to national security.”

“There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration,” Pompeo replied, cracking a wry smile.

“We’re ready. The world is watching what’s taking place,” he continued. “We’re going to count all the votes. When the process is complete, there’ll be electors selected. There’s a process. The constitution lays it out pretty clearly.”

“The world should have every confidence that the transition necessary to make sure that the State Department is functional today and successful with the president who is in office on January 20th, a minute after noon, will also be successful,” Pompeo concluded.

Trump Campaign: “The Word Concede Is Not Even In Our Vocabulary”

The comments from Pompeo, refusing to concede that the election has been concluded, follow similar comments from President Trump and his campaign.

Appearing on Fox News, campaign advisor Jason Miller said that the word ‘concede’ “is not even in our vocabulary right now.”

“We’re going to pursue all of these legal means, all of the recount methods. We’re going to continue exposing and investigating all these instances of fraud or abuse, and make sure that the American public can have full confidence in these elections,” Miller added.

“It’s not just our campaign saying we need to go through these, in certain states like Arizona, Georgia, and others, these are mandatory recounts that are coming up. We have to go through the process and 71 million Americans voted for this president, so they want to make sure that justice is served,” he concluded.

McConnell: “No Lectures From People Who Didn’t Accept Last Election”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell also refused to call the election, and pointed out that he did not want to hear any lectures “about how the President should immediately, cheerfully accept preliminary election results from the same characters who just spent four years refusing to accept the validity of the last election.”

One person who is sure President Trump will not concede unless absolutely forced to is his ex-wife Ivana, the mother of his oldest three children.

“He’s not a good loser,” Ivana told People Magazine of the president. “He doesn’t like to lose, so he’s going to fight and fight and fight.”

That sounds like our President.

That’s why he was elected in 2016, and why over 70 million Americans voted for him again in 2020.
