Bill Gates ‘Saw This Divorce Coming For A Long Time’ As He Hides Out At Luxury California Golf Club

Last week, we reported that Bill and Melinda Gates shocked the world when they announced that they are divorcing after 27 years of marriage. Now, it’s been revealed that Bill was anticipating this divorce, and that he has been hiding out at a luxury California resort for weeks.

“Bill clearly saw this divorce coming for a long time because he’s been there for around three months,” a source told Page Six.

Another insider said that Bill has been holed up at The Vintage Club in Indian Wells, which bills itself as “one of the United States’ most prestigious and ultra-exclusive private country club communities.” The club is located on 712-acres, and is considered to be an oasis of wealth.

The source added that Bill has been seen this week at the club with his 25-year-old daughter Jennifer Gates and her fiancé, Egyptian millionaire Nayel Nassar. The billionaire founder of Microsoft owns a private home on the property, which also boasts members such as billionaires Charles Koch, Philip Anshultz and Dennis Washington.

Membership at the club costs $250,000, and homes there range from a mere $2.3 million to $20 million. It includes an 85,000-square-foot clubhouse at the epicenter as well as various restaurants, a luxury spa, and two nationally ranked, 18-hole, Tom Fazio-designed golf courses.

Bill signed his divorce papers in Palm Desert, California, which is where the club is located, while Melinda signed hers in Bellevue, Washington, where their $130 million home is situated. This comes one week after Bill and Melinda announced that they are divorcing, as their marriage is “irretrievably broken.”

“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” they said in a statement. “Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives.”

“We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives,” their statement concluded. “We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life.”
