It was about damn time that Mayor Durkan pulled her head out of the sand and ended the CHOP nonsense. Let’s be honest; the only reason she pushed them off the streets is that the rioters came too close to her home.

Mayor Durkin labeled CHOP (formerly CHAZ) as our generation’s “Summer of Love.” The reality quickly set in when people started getting robbed, and they found that they needed some security. The security did absolutely nothing to stop the 500% increase in crime in that area.
CHOP saw rapes, assaults, robbery, harassment, shootings, and murder. The mayor and the governor of that state allowed it to happen. The blood is on their hands. Mayor Durkin should be in jail for allowing this to happen in her city.
After the Mayor’s executive order ruling that CHOP is now designated as an unlawful gathering, the police were able to clear it out in under an hour.

A tweet from the Seattle Parks Department said: “Today (6/30), SPR is temporarily closing Cal Anderson Park to the public at 12:00 pm to allow crews to assess the damage and remove damage. At this time, no changes will be made to the community garden or art installed by demonstrators.”

Of course, people refused to leave, and SPD did have to come today and clean out the lowest members of our society from Cal Anderson Park. I encourage you to read the entire statement linked in the tweet above.
The letter shares links that show a lot of the damage that was done by the anarchists who took over the six city blocks. The damage includes damage to fire pits, fencing, cars, lawns and fields, infrastructure, graffiti, and litter. If I paid taxes in Seattle, I would be calling for the Mayor to resign, and I would demand charges be filed against her.
What happened to this city should never be allowed to happen in America.
