Opinion: Chris Wallace Colleagues Are NOT Happy How He Handled the Debate, Including Laura Ingraham and Greg Gutfeld

After Chris Wallace moderated the first 2020 presidential debate on Tuesday evening, he received mounds of backlash, even from his own colleagues at Fox News.

My family and I got together last night to watch the debate over some pizza (yes, we decided against the drinking game because we didn’t want to be as out-of-touch as Biden usually is) and we were equally irritated with how Wallace handled the debate.

Granted, it’s damn near impossible to do your job when you’re being interrupted every two seconds, but the moments of bias sure made us ponder.

Several of the other hosts at Fox News took to Twitter to share their thoughts –

YES! That was so frustrating! Wallace rarely interjected when Biden was talking but it seemed as though President Trump was consistently being herded like conversational cattle.

According to the Daily Caller:

Wallace struggled to control Tuesday’s debate, which saw President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden clash and insult each other numerous times.

Following the debate, some of Wallace’s co-workers began to criticize how he handled the evening, with many saying Trump was forced to debate him in addition to Biden.

Host Greg Gutfeld seemed to agree with Ingraham, re-tweeting multiple comments about Trump debating two people.

In one retweet, podcast host Stephen L. Miller wrote that “Wallace is grilling Trump on his supporters taking to the streets when antifa is burning businesses down right now.”

Meanwhile, Fox News contributor Andy McCarthy said that Wallace “should get out of the way” and called him out for not pressing Biden on the Green New Deal.

“Chris Wallace jumps in a second time when Biden having trouble with Trump’s questioning,” McCarthy noted.

So many important issues, such as Burisma Holdings, the Green New Deal, Hunter Biden’s sketchy monetary dealings, and plenty others were just pushed to the wayside and replaced with correcting President Trump in some shape or form.

President Trump has always been a mover and a shaker, he doesn’t just bow down and take the BS that’s constantly thrown at him, and the debate evidenced this. However, while I do feel as though his adrenaline got the better of him last night, I’d rather have someone who’s aggressive about fighting for what the country needs rather than a puppet like Joe.
