CNN’s John Harwood Would Like You Minions To Know That Inflation Is “Largely A Charade”

Oh thank GOD someone from CNN has weighed in on inflation.  I’m so glad an out-of-touch D.C. dude that calls himself a “journalist” from the outlet that gave us THREE FREAKING YEARS of nonstop Russiagate – now proving to be a complete and utter LIE AND PROPAGANDA – is weighing in on something as trivial-to-DC-hacks as whether people are going to fill their gas tanks this week or feed their kids.

Bless John’s heart.

You see, John Harwood thinks that inflation is “largely a charade,” hilljacks.  You’re just not living “real life,” where the pandemic relief has actually “eased your pain.”

Didn’t you know that?

YOU ARE IN A GOOD FINANCIAL PLACE.  I REPEAT – YOU ARE IN A GOOD FINANCIAL PLACE.  CNN John said so, and he lives in D.C. and he’s better than you, so it must be true.

Some of my favorite morsels:

…they have not been “crushed” badly enough to prevent them from spending at a steady pace.

That’s because families up and down the income scale, thanks to Covid relief checks, generally still have more money than before the pandemic; in the lingo of economic analysts, “household balance sheets” still have “excess savings.” Unemployment has fallen back below 4%.

“The excess saving has been enough to cushion the impact of declining real wages on spending, even for lower-income households,” says Moody’s chief economist, Mark Zandi. “American households are for the most part in a good financial place.”

Wow.  You can almost SMELL what an elitist jackhole John is, amirite, Biden?  Get in there and SMELLLLLLL IT.

Seriously, though.  Do those folks in Washington get a different strain of air piped into their smug-bubble or what?  When you and I have to pay upwards of 100 bucks to fill up our gas tanks, it’s not actually pain or anxiety you may be feeling.  Nah, you’ve just not been elitist-CNN-John-splained enough.  You’re enjoying financial prosperity.  And Russiagate was real.  And John is an Actual Journalist.

Yeah – I’ll be sure to explain CNN-John’s hypothesis to my rancher friend who lives down the street from me the next time she shells out 200+ bucks to fill up her diesel tank.  I’m sure she and John would get along wonderfully.  John knows what a rancher is, right?  I think he saw Brokeback Mountain once, so he’s probably an expert.

This was my favorite response to his ridiculous tweet:

Ah yes. We’re ALL millionaires, Scott!  Brilliant take. Half the country can consider themselves millionaires – WHO KNEW?  (And for the record, it’s “they could NOT care less…”  And it’s AFFECTED with an “a.”)

The fact that Scott believes that WE want power, when his party is the one who tried to institute the Ministry of Truth shows you how little these people know how to read (start with a grammar crash course, then move on to a little history, Scott.  Because damn.)

I guess CNN-John will soon be telling all of us hilljacks out here to just take some spin classes and have some margs to cope with the fact that we just don’t understand how awesomely kickass everything is right now, and we need to massage our (millllllllllionaire!) household budgets.  I suppose the margs would help us cope with the fact that our 401Ks are tanking.  I should cut him some slack, since people in D.C. don’t have to worry about such things, because let’s face it – most of them rely on people LIKE ME to pay for them to live, and Lord knows that they don’t have to worry about adhering to silly things like budgets.  Why would they, since they have a steady stream of taxpayer income to poop on and then promptly set on fire?   I should give him some grace, but I just bought gas today.  So not feeling the grace.

In the Real World, John, we make budgets, we stick to them, and if we don’t?  Unlike the DC’ites, WE DON’T FREAKING EAT.  It’s called being a grownup.  And when you’re paying almost 100 bucks for a tank of gas, no amount of sugar-coating from a DC-blowhard (who works for a company that lied to the American public for three straight years) is going to help.

But nice try, dude.  Might want to hold onto that spin bike and have an extra marg, because if I were a betting woman (which I’m not, because I actually have to save money for my retirement, unlike the jackhats in D.C.), I’d say that 2022 and 2024 are going to leave a mark.
