The Dixie Chicks have seen the error of their ways and have rebranded themselves. They are following in the footsteps of Lady Antebellum, who now call themselves Lady A, having stolen the name of a long-established black musician.
Now the Dixie Chicks have stolen what Mock and Daisy have been calling themselves for years.

They are no longer the Dixie Chicks. They are now, simply, The Chicks. So now, instead of being racist and sexist, they are just sexist.
Hopefully their fans, who must be racist for liking a band with such an insensitive name, go along with the name change.

Across the band’s social media pages, the women now go by The Chicks. On Thursday morning, their official Twitter handle was changed from @dixiechicks to @thechicks.
The group made up of Natalie Maines, Martie Erwin Maguire, and Emily Strayer, also changed their name on Instagram and Facebook.
A statement on The Chicks’ website said “We want to meet this moment.” The term Dixie refers to Southern U.S. states, especially those that belonged to the Confederacy.
