For Left-Wing Activists, Kyrsten Sinema’s Rights End At The Bathroom Door

streetwisepol October 15, 2021 2nd Amendment, Harassment, Kyrsten Sinema, Life, Opinion, progressives Comments Off on For Left-Wing Activists, Kyrsten Sinema’s Rights End At The Bathroom Door

We have all seen the video. Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema walks into a restroom, presumably to do what people do when they enter a restroom. But she is not alone.

Radical left-wing activists, upset that she has the audacity to ask questions and, at least for right now, oppose a mammoth spending bill before Congress, follow her in. They follow her up to the point she goes into the stall and locks the door.

As multiple news reports indicate, the far-left is just getting started in their campaign against Sinema.

The Left’s Message To Sinema: Get Used To It

So why does the left have its Fruit of the Looms in a bundle at Senator Sinema?

Currently, she and Sen. Joe Manchin are standing in the way of Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion behemoth reconciliation bill that would basically stick a governmental finger into every aspect of the lives of average Americans.

Manchin has stated that he is comfortable with anything between $1.5 and $2.2 trillion but would be a no vote on anything else.

Sinema has said that she cannot support the current price tag of the bill.

And with that, the left has declared war on Kyrsten Sinema, and apparently, nothing is off the table. A grassroots group called Our Revolution, has vowed to shadow Sinema until, well basically until they get their way and she says she will support the bill.

Our Revolution Executive Director Joseph Geevarghese says it plain and simple:

“We’re committed to birddogging Kyrsten Sinema with her constituents until the very end. What we want to show is that her constituents are very serious about wanting policies and activism and we’re going to make her life unpleasant or uncomfortable until that happens.”

Not A Republican Or Democrat Issue

Let’s not kid ourselves. The media describes Kyrsten Sinema as a “moderate,” and she may well be. But she is a Democrat, and her mission in life is not to be the BFF of Republicans. But before we dismiss this incident, let’s take a trip down memory lane, because these are not new tactics.

In 2018, then-White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders went to a Washington D.C. area restaurant to have a meal with her family. She was promptly asked to leave by the owner. Why? Because in her position as press secretary, she had defended the policies of the president she served, one Donald J. Trump.

Sure, it’s that business owners’ right, you may say. But is that the kind of society we expect America to be?

Texas Senator Ted Cruz and his wife have been harassed at restaurants, to the point where they had to leave. All over his position over then-Supreme court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

We know the story of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and his neighbor. We are all outraged by these stories. But why are we outraged? Are we outraged because these are our people? They are on”our side”?

Shouldn’t we be equally outraged that Kyrsten Sinema, whether she is a Republican or a Democrat can’t walk into a restroom and expect a minute of privacy?

Even the leader of the “Party of women,” President Joe Biden when asked, shrugged it off and said he didn’t approve of the tactics, but it was “part of the process.”

Is it really?

A Question Of Ethics

It has been said many times and it is true. Politics is a blood sport, dog eat dog. Rep. Maxine Waters urging a mob on to confront Trump supporters if they saw them is proof of that blood sport deteriorating even further.

Republicans have always insisted on being the nice guys, taking the high road. It is a fair question to ask how has that worked for us?

Some will say not well at all. But even when we disagree with someone politically, why is it too much to let anyone, red or blue, have dinner with their family, or go to the restroom?

After all, we’re talking about a spending bill. We’re not talking about, say, harassing a Senator who voted to send your kid to war in Vietnam for no reason.

We already knew that the left brushes away things like basic humanity when it comes to their agenda. And we have seen in the case of Kyrsten Sinema that they even brush it away when it comes to people on their own side.

Would Sen. Sinema defend a Republican if this happened to them? No way to know. I like to think so.

But if we are to be consistent, we should be defending Sen. Sinema. If the arguments and positions of anyone left or right are valid enough, they should be able to withstand a five minute restroom break.
