Governor Noem was a special highlight among the line-up of Saturday’s CPAC 2021 guest speakers. And, wow, did she ever hit a home run!
South Dakota got it right with COVID-19. Lockdown states did not. And Governor Kristi Noem schooled America’s liberal governors about what freedom and liberty and common sense are all about.
Noem focused on a key question. She asked us all, “Why does America need Conservatives?” Answer: 2020. Long story short: “COVID didn’t crush our economy, Government did.”

Governor Noem explained how South Dakota was the only state never to order a single business or church to close. As Governor, she never directed the people of South Dakota to shelter in place, never directed them to wear masks, and never defined which businesses in South Dakota were essential or not.
What a concept: a governing leader respecting her people with their God-given rights to do what is best for them and their families.
What a concept: a non-dictator Governor using common sense and Conservative governing principles. Noem now has a booming economy in her state. South Dakota is NUMBER ONE in the nation for jobs, the lowest unemployment rates, and keeping schools open.
What a concept: a Governor who believes that our government is “by and for the people.” And “in America, our founding fathers believed in the power of limited government.” Noem shared her belief how no Governor should dictate which activities are approved or not approved but that Governors have the duty to respect the rights of those who elected them.
What a concept: a Governor who leads by example. How did she do it? Kristi Noem governed her state successfully through COVID-19 by trusting her people. She worked hard to provide people with all the information necessary and trusted them to make the best decisions for themselves and their families.
What a concept: Noem explained how South Dakota focused on hospital capacity instead of the number of COVID cases.
If you have been watching the news over the past year, you will recall that “Dr. Media Fraudi” (Dr. Fauci) was extremely critical of Noem’s choices in leading her state. He told her that “on her worst day, she’d have over 10,000 people in her hospitals.” Noem went on to share that on their worst day, South Dakota had a little over 600 COVID hospitalizations. Wow, Dr. Fraudi, I’d say that was off by about a mile.

Noem’s speech was brilliant. She continued to emphasize how economic and social well-being and dignity are necessary, which is why she led South Dakota through 2020 with science, data, facts, and a balanced approach.
Despite her balanced and successful approach, we can all remember how the media went batsh*t nuts over her “poorly-managed” COVID-19 leadership. Noem recalled how the media criticized her and South Dakota as ill-informed, reckless, in denial, and even went as far as saying, “South Dakota was as bad as it was anywhere in the world when it comes to COVID.”
Noem made it clear that, once again, the media narrative was a big lie. She also highlighted how the media fawned over and praised lockdown governors, especially Governor Cuomo of New York.
Remember her interview with Georgie-boy Stephanopoulos? Noem’s interview began right after he had interviewed Cuomo…and for a transition, he suggested that Cuomo offer COVID advice to Noem. Laughable. Especially considering the timing of it all now that the truth is coming out on Cuomo and a few other Democrat Dictator-Governors who did not trust their people and did not respect their Constitutional rights.
It’s not only me, Cuomo. Millions of us Conservatives agree that Kristi Noem spoon-fed YOU some advice on Saturday at CPAC.
Then came my favorite part when Governor Noem highlighted remarks from Democrat President John F. Kennedy in 1962:
“The Declaration of Independence above all else was a document not of rhetoric but of bold decision.”
“The Declaration unleashed not merely a revolution against the British, but a revolution in human affairs.”
“This doctrine of national independence shook the globe–and it remains the most powerful force anywhere in the world today.”
Noem continued by reminding us how 2020 was much more than only COVID-19. It was a year that included an organized and coordinated campaign to remove our past and our history, intending to remake America into a vastly different political image.

The attempt by the left to cancel our founding generations is an attempt to cancel our freedom and build up tyranny.
She expressed the importance of our freedom to Americans and as inspiration to the world, and how we should always remember that America is good. No American should ever apologize for that.
And then she pounced, clearly directing the following points to ‘President’ Joe Biden, when she proclaimed: “Friends of China are NOT friends of freedom.”
Badabambadaboom.
Moreover, she drove home the point that we have forgotten the principles we once held dear and how Conservatives must articulate to fellow Americans that we are the only ones who respect them as human beings.
That we are the only ones who believe American people have God-given rights. And because of that, “We are NOT here to tell you how to live your life [or] to treat you like a child or a criminal because you go to church or defend yourself.”
“We don’t divide people based on their religion, their culture, or the color of their skin,” she said.
She also stated, “We don’t shun people for thinking for themselves.”
In closing, Noem emphasized the following: “Conservatives don’t have the media on our side, so we need to be smarter than our fellow progressives.” Noem made it very clear that “Conservatives Exist to Fight for America.” She explained the actions we should take to change people’s hearts and minds: “Be bold, show up, debate issues, and persuade.”

Her entire speech packed some punch but this was golden: “The left wants to be our shepherds, but that requires us to be sheep. Let it be heard loud and clear from us right now! WE WILL NOT BE SHEEP!”
And the crowd roared like lions!
