Jill Duggar of “Counting On” fame is speaking out to defend herself after she was hit with backlash for feeding her breast milk to her dog.

The former TLC reality television star took to Instagram on Sunday to say that she still had the “last teeny bottle of breast milk in the freezer for nearly a couple years now” that her toddler son Sam randomly decided he wanted to try.

“…it didn’t look or smell bad when I thawed it out so i let him try it,” she continued. “As expected, he didn’t like it after trying a couple sips.”

It seems that Jill fed the leftover breast milk to her dog, something that she appeared to anticipate would not sit well with some of her followers.

“Also, before any of you jump on me for feeding it to the dog, she’s fine. She’s totally fine,” Duggar, 30, of the dog. “I wouldn’t have given it to her if i thought it would make her sick.So just chill mkay?”

While Jill is already mother to two young sons with husband Derick Dillard, she told US Weekly back in February that she “would love” to expand her family. She also said that she and her husband are “not opposed to” adopting their third baby, but are “content right now.”

“We’re definitely open to wherever God leads us,” Jill said at the time. “And we’ve also talked about adoption possibly in the future. … Derick’s uncle was adopted.”

“We’re still young. We’ll see,” her husband said, adding that they may  “grow into … two biological or adopted [kids] or at the same time.”

However, in April, Derick said that they were not “definite” in wanting to have more kids.

“We’re just kind of enjoying life,” Derick said.

Though Jill comes from a very devout Christian family, she has been open about her and her husband’s sex life. She said in June of 2019 that they have “sex often [as one of the] ways we can love our husbands.”

“You both need this time together regularly. (3-4 times a week is a good start. lol),” she added at the time.
