John Kerry Shocker: “Trump Was Right” on Immigration

In a rare moment of political candor, former Democratic presidential candidate and Obama-era heavyweight John Kerry has admitted publicly what every rational American already knew: “Trump was right” on immigration and border security. This remarkable concession, made in an interview with the BBC, underscores just how catastrophic Joe Biden’s open-border policies were, policies that turned America’s southern border into an open wound for our nation.

The admission from Kerry, who once served as Secretary of State and who is renowned for toeing the Democratic Party line, reveals cracks within the Democratic establishment. It is a tacit acknowledgment that the Biden administration’s reckless immigration policies weren’t just unpopular—they were disastrous. Kerry stated bluntly: “The first thing any president should say—any president, or anybody in public life—is, ‘Without a border protected you don’t have a nation.’ I believe that.”

This is exactly what President Trump has consistently argued. For years, the MAGA movement has stood firm in demanding robust border enforcement, recognizing that immigration control isn’t merely a political wedge issue—it’s an existential necessity for America’s sovereignty, security, and prosperity. Trump’s America First immigration policies weren’t born out of xenophobia, as the left falsely claims, but rather from common-sense patriotism and economic pragmatism.

Yet, even as Kerry admits that Trump got it right, the Democrats stubbornly refuse to learn. Instead of correcting their misguided course, party elites are doubling down on proposals that prioritize foreign economic migrants over American workers. Recently, Democratic operatives, spearheaded by Neera Tanden at the influential Center for American Progress, unveiled a radical immigration scheme that would flood U.S. labor markets, schools, and neighborhoods with millions more migrants, primarily from India. The plan cynically claims it will “secure and control the border,” but in practice, it is designed to drastically increase legal immigration channels, suppress wages, and shift political power permanently toward the Democratic Party.

“Expand immigration opportunities for innovators and entrepreneurs to start or run businesses to spur job growth in the United States and for workers in shortage occupations, such as caregiving and primary care medicine. Make it easier for the United States to retain graduates of U.S. colleges and universities in STEM fields to increase American competitiveness and foster innovation. Authorize sufficient additional immigrant visas to clear the backlog for Indian immigrant workers and Americans’ family members who qualify for lawful permanent residence and have waited in line for five or more years. Supplement the existing family-and employment-based system with a new, targeted points-based system driven directly by the labor demands of the U.S. economy. Create a new safe, orderly legal pathway for crime victims similar to the refugee admissions program. Establish a secure, fair, workable pathway for longtime undocumented immigrants who have lived in the United States for more than ten years—more than five years for Dreamers—to obtain lawful permanent residence, followed by eligibility to receive citizenship in the future.”

This is not immigration reform; it’s an open invitation to further erode American jobs, wages, and cultural cohesion. It is precisely the globalist vision that voters soundly rejected in 2024. Yet, establishment Democrats remain determined to replace American workers with cheap foreign labor, disregarding the economic harm done to our own citizens.

Even worse, some Republicans and influential business groups are pressuring President Trump to dilute his immigration stance. Agricultural interests and corporate lobbyists are pushing the President to expand low-wage migrant worker programs, a move that would directly undermine the MAGA commitment to American workers and families. Now is the time for real conservatives to stand firm against the corporate elites who seek profit at the expense of American communities.

John Kerry’s admission that “Trump was right” should serve as a wake-up call for both parties. The Biden administration’s catastrophic failure at the border, which allowed millions of migrants to flood our nation unchecked—driving down wages, inflating housing markets, and overwhelming local resources—cannot be forgotten or repeated. America must reject any return to Biden-era madness and stand firmly behind President Trump’s original America First immigration platform.

The political establishment still hasn’t learned its lesson. But we, the American people, know better. It’s time to secure our borders, restore sanity to immigration policy, and put Americans first once again.
