Meghan Markle’s Ex-Husband Could ‘Barely Contain His Anger’ When She Gave Back Ring

Before marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan Markle was married to Hollywood producer Trevor Engelson from 2011 until 2013. Now, a royal expert has come forward to talk about how roughly Engelson took it when Meghan gave him back her engagement ring and ended their marriage.

Royal biographer Andrew Morton said that Engelson “felt like something stuck to the bottom of her shoe” when Meghan sent him back her engagement ring via the mail, according to The Express. The former couple began dating in 2004 and married in 2011 before divorcing two years later, with Meghan citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Morton added that Engelson could “barely contain his anger” after receiving the engagement ring in the mail. It is believed that their marriage became strained as Meghan travelled between California and Canada while filming her television show “Suits.”

When Morton tracked Engelson down for comment, the ex of Meghan’s initially only said, “I have zero to say about her.” Morton ended up concluding that Engelson was still so hurt by the sudden way that Meghan ended their marriage that he can’t even stand to hear her name brought up around him anymore.

“It was such a surprise for Trevor that even at a distance of five years, he can barely contain his anger,” Morton explained. “The normally laid back New Yorker switching gear from his usual ‘hi bro, how’s it going?’ to a cold fury when her name comes into the conversation.”

Meghan’s former best friend Ninaki Priddy has expressed sympathize for Engelson. She was best friends with Meghan for over twenty years and even served as her maid of honor in her first wedding, but after seeing how she ditched Engelson two years later, Priddy decided that she could no longer associate with someone like Meghan.

“All I can say now is that I think Meghan was very calculated, very calculated in the way she handled people and relationships,” Priddy said. “She is very strategic in the way she cultivates her friends. Once she decides you’re not part of her life, she can be very cold. It’s this shutdown mechanism she has. There’s nothing to negotiate, she’s made her decision and that’s it. The way she handled it, Trevor definitely had the rug pulled out from under him. He was hurt.”
