Biden’s Lead “Evaporates” In New National Poll, Trump Trusted On Economy, Coronavirus [Reuters / Ipsos Poll]

President Trump has bounced back in polling against Joe Biden.

This is not entirely surprising given his recent 49% approval rating in the Gallup poll.

Perhaps the Tara Reade allegations are hurting Biden. It also likely helps that President Trump ended the daily press conferences.

These polling results have to worry Joe Biden’s campaign.

Biden’s lead has “evaporated,” according to Reuters.

From The Daily Wire:

Former Vice President Joe Biden held a significant national lead over President Donald Trump in most opinion polls, even as late as last week, but a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released late Tuesday shows Trump narrowing that gap, with the pair now within just two points.

Last week, Biden led the Reuters/Ipsos poll by a respectable six points, as Americans expressed concern that Trump was not effectively handling the coronavirus crisis. Now, though, that lead has “evaporated,” according to Reuters, leaving Biden just two points ahead of Trump and well within the poll’s three point margin of error.

Biden’s lead is down even further from a month ago, when he led Trump by a staggering eight points nationwide.

“The opinion poll conducted on Monday and Tuesday found that 43% of registered voters said they would support Biden in the Nov. 3 presidential election, while 41% said they would back Trump. That makes the contest essentially a toss-up, as the results are within the poll’s credibility interval,” the outlet said. ‘Biden led by 6 percentage points in a similar poll last week and by 8 points in a poll that ran April 15 to 21″…

Respondents are more confident that Trump, rather than Biden, can handle the coronavirus epidemic, and far more confident that Trump, rather than Biden, can mastermind an economic recovery.

So, the poll shows Trump down by 2 points. Translation: Trump is up 4-6 points, in my opinion.

Of course, it is SUPER early for the polls to really matter. So much is going to happen in the next 6 months. Heck, Biden might not even end up being the nominee.

Ultimately though, if the choice is between Trump and Biden, Trump will win. When people get into the voting booth, they are going to be faced with a very stark choice.

Biden is a man in cognitive decline. He represents the past. Biden, is not a leader, as evidenced by his conspicuously low profile during this crisis.

Will people trust Biden to revive our economy in the midst of what will likely be an ongoing and drawn out coronavirus crisis?

President Trump is not personally liked by many. He is quite full of himself and has no filter. He is not going to win any character awards.

But the man gets results. Prior to this Wuhan virus fiasco, he was leading a strong economy that grew in response to his policies of decreased regulation, tax cuts, and revamped trade agreements. The man is not afraid to lead. The man, though 73 years old, is sharp as a tack and full of energy.
