Prince George Zooms With Queen Elizabeth For 8th Birthday – Gets Special ‘Surprise’ From Her

Prince George celebrated his eighth birthday on Thursday, and to mark the occasion, he got to have a Zoom call with his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth, who also sent him a special “surprise.”

“It’s really nice for him because there’s no school at the moment. He’s on holiday,” a source told US Weekly of George’s birthday. “Kate and William surprised George with a football cake. He received lots of lovely presents — a nature explorer set and a cool watch!”

George, who will one day inherit the throne, also received a call from the 95 year-old Queen.

“The queen Zoomed Prince George to wish him a happy birthday. She sent him a lovely gift as a surprise,” the insider said, adding that George “loves his great-grandmother so much.”

George’s younger siblings Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, also got in on the action, as they “made their own adorable birthday cards for their brother.”

The source went on to say that George has “grown up over the last year” and really “likes doing things his way,” adding that the royal is “a confident and energetic little boy” who “loves reading, sports, puzzles and is super outdoorsy and adventurous.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton also released a new photo of their son for his eighty birthday. The image shows George sitting on top of a Land Rover in a subtle tribute to his late great-grandfather Prince Philip, who loved this type of car. Philip tragically passed away back in April at the age of 99.

“Wishing Prince George a very happy birthday today,” the Queen wrote on the official royal Instagram account on Thursday as she reposted a photo of George.

William and Kate have long-standing tradition of making their children’s birthdays as special as possible. Last year, they through George a “camping-themed BBQ party” amid the COVID-19 pandemic for just their immediate family.

“[William] and Kate surprised the birthday boy with a yurt as his gift, and he received a new bicycle from Charlotte and Louis,” a source said at the time, adding that George’s siblings “helped Kate bake a chocolate sponge cake for George and decorated it with sprinkles, lollipops and colorful candy.”

We would like to wish Prince George a very happy birthday, and we hope he has many more!
