Progressive Pals of Hasan Piker Silent on Pro-Terrorist Streamer’s Animal Abuse

Pro-terrorist streamer Hasan Piker is taking heat after zapping his dog with a shock collar on a livestream, but he’s found refuge from the scandal in the form of silence from his far-left allies.

Video emerged Tuesday showing Piker engaged in what has been described as animal abuse, reaching for something in front of him when his dog, Kaya, stepped off her bed. The dog then cried out in pain and returned to her spot.

“Jesus Christ, what are you doing?” Piker asked as his dog sat back down. “You’re being such a baby.”

Piker, the subject of a glowing New York Times profile and lauded as “the left’s Joe Rogan” and a “himbo gateway drug” for progressives, has invited numerous left-wing lawmakers on his show. He hosted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) for a discussion on pro-Hamas activist Mahmoud Khalil earlier this year and has conducted interviews with Reps. Ro Khanna (D., Calif.) and Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.), as well as Democratic nominee for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani.

None of those politicians responded to Washington Free Beacon requests for comment on whether they take issue with Piker’s treatment of his dog, and none has issued any thoughts on social media.

The moment came during a longer rant about how much Piker, who has said the United States deserved 9/11, hates the country in which he lives.

“I hate this f—ing country so much,” he said. “You can be on a f—ing mountain in the middle of Norway and get better internet than Los Angeles, California.”

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), though, released a statement to the Hollywood Reporter condemning shock collars.

“Shock collars are dangerous and downright cruel,” PETA said. “They put dogs at risk of burn wounds, chronic anxiety, and displaced aggression.”

Piker, for his part, has denied using a shock collar, later holding the collar—with prongs removed and clearly visible electrical tape covering the wires—up to the camera. He has, though, spoken in the past about owning a shock collar, calling it “incredibly effective.”

Piker blamed the controversy on conservatives and supporters of Israel.

He wrote in a post on Instagram that outrage over his treatment of his dog is “a coordinated far right / pro Israel slander campaign.”

It’s not the first time Piker has raised eyebrows for his treatment of animals. After the Kaya incident went viral, internet sleuths found a video of Piker screaming at another dog he once owned.

“If you run right now, I’ll f—ing kill you!” he yelled at the dog while yanking it by the tail. “I’ll actually kill you, motherf—er.”
