In a move that has sent shockwaves through both liberal and conservative circles, New York City Mayor Eric Adams sat down with incoming Border Czar Tom Homan to hammer out a game plan for tackling the city’s spiraling migrant crisis. The meeting, held Thursday, centered on a bold strategy to deport illegal immigrants with the full cooperation of the New York Police Department.

Homan, known for his no-nonsense approach as former acting ICE director during Donald Trump’s first term, had nothing but praise for Mayor Adams after the meeting. Speaking to Sean Hannity, Homan lauded the mayor for putting public safety above politics.
“He gets it,” Homan declared. “Mayor Adams proved that he’s more focused on protecting his city than pandering to partisan agendas. He’s ready to help ICE get criminal threats off the streets and assist in locating over 340,000 missing children, many of whom are believed to be in New York City.”
Homan revealed that Adams expressed a desire to undo the damage caused by former Mayor de Blasio’s policies, including reinstating ICE operations at Rikers Island to intercept criminal aliens before they are released into the community.
“He’s a former cop, and it showed in that room,” Homan added. “The NYPD has one of the best intelligence networks in the world, and Adams is ready to deploy those resources to locate and apprehend illegal immigrants who pose a threat to public safety.”

New York City is currently grappling with the presence of hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, including nearly 60,000 with criminal backgrounds. The collaboration between Adams and Homan could mark a turning point in restoring order and safety to the city.
Homan also referenced the tragic case of Laken Riley, a young woman whose killer was released instead of being handed over to ICE. “Adams understands the stakes, and he’s asking the right questions,” Homan said.
As the incoming border czar, Homan pledged that New York City will lead by example. “This city is about to send a strong message to the world: we’re taking public safety seriously, and we’re not afraid to act.”
With Trump’s administration poised to ramp up immigration enforcement, the unexpected alliance between Adams and Homan could set a precedent for other liberal cities grappling with similar crises. Whether this partnership will draw praise or backlash remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—New York City is about to get a lot safer.
