The LA Times is reporting that the entertainment channel, WGN America, is attempting to revive its company by offering the news. The parent company of WGN America, Nexstar, is reimagining the news by using local news anchors as their new national talent to give national news with zero opinion.
Yes, you read that right. They plan to offer three hours a day of unbiased, unpolitical, opinion-free telling of the news.
You know, like the olden days when Americans would sit around their radios and listen to the events going on around the country before tucking into some warm milk and going off to bed.
Before, we had the Don Lemons of the world telling Presidential candidates (Hint: JOE BIDEN) that it’s time to care about the violence in our streets because the polls told them to.
Now, according to the LA Times ‘News Nation’ will air for three hours during the “prime time newscast (8 p.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific).” The launch happens tonight on WGN America and is supposed to cover the day’s events in a “neutral” and “opinion-free” way.
Nexstar told the publication that if the three-hour newscast is “successful,” they would be expanding the hours the newscast is aired. They hope to fill the gap left by all the mainstream media that have turned into propaganda arms of our nation’s political parties.
One of ‘News Nation’s’ national anchors, Rob Nelson, was hired from “New York TV station WABC” and talked to the LA Times about the “microscope” their station will be under because they are identifying as an “unbiased option.”

“’It’s a different level of scrutiny, and quite honestly in the era we’re living in right now, saying ‘NewsNation’ is balanced is putting a big target on our backs and people will be looking for anything that suggests otherwise,’ Nelson said as he prepared for rehearsal before the launch. ‘So we have no choice but to get it right because we will be called out by one side or the other very quickly if we don’t.’”
This is an exciting development in our nation. We are starving for unbiased commentary. Let’s be honest, you don’t come to the Chicks website for unbiased news; you come because we are smart, funny women, and you enjoy our take on the world. The website clearly says, “Chicks on the RIGHT.” It doesn’t say, “Chicks in the Middle.” We let you know that you are getting your news from a conservative voice.
Fox claims to be “fair and balanced,” but you could hardly consider Chris Wallace or Sean Hannity “fair and balanced.”
CNN doesn’t even attempt to hide their bias. They spend every moment running interference for Democrats and either explaining away the rioting as “peaceful protests” or giving this week’s reason why Biden shouldn’t debate Trump. They hate conservatives and it shows in their reporting.
Tucker Carlson, although right on a lot of things, is a biased news source.
Americans deserve to know whether their news is slanted. I hope WGN America can pull this off because it could mean a real shift in America. Real News will give people a chance to sow unity rather division.
