Far-left Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also known as AOC, has been widely mocked online for selling expensive merchandise with hardcore leftist slogans.
AOC is a self-described “democratic socialist.”
“Tax The Rich” Sweatshirt Going For $65
AOC announced her new merchandise shop on Twitter on Thursday, declaring that pre-orders for the items were open now.
She made sure to highlight that each of the products were “Made in the US with dignified, union jobs paying living wages.”

On the website, fans of AOC can buy various items, including sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, and coffee mugs, all decorated with different far-left slogans.
Among them, you can find “tax the rich,” “the green new deal,” “change takes courage,” or “drink water and don’t be racist.”
The price on the items ranges from around $27 for a t-shirt, to $65 for a hoodie, and even up to $90 for a pack of six green new deal propaganda posters.
The cost of the items are considered contributions to her Congressional campaign.

The response to the merchandise being posted by AOC was generally not positive from those on the right.
Many highlighted the extravagant cost of the items in the store – particularly for someone who has, correctly, pointed out that many Americans are going hungry during the COVID pandemic.
“Democrats like AOC want to lock you down, kill your job, permanently put you out of business, tank the economy, and then turn around and ask you to buy their $65 sweatshirts that say ‘Tax the Rich,’ so they can fund their re-election campaign and do it all again,” Charlie Kirk tweeted.

In their inimitable style, satire site Babylon Bee suggested a hot item AOC should sell.

One Twitter user even highlighted the supreme irony in the composition of her “Green New Deal” hoodie.
The hoodie, which costs $65, contains polyester in the waist and wrist cuffs.
Polyester is, of course, a petroleum-based product.

AOC didn’t take all the mockery laying down, though.
She responded with her usual brand of snarky non-sequiturs.
“Republicans are freaking out [because] we don’t use slave-wage labor for merch that funds grassroots organizing,” AOC shot back in a tweet in response to critics.
