Eric Trump has fired back at CNN’s Jake Tapper after the anchor cut short an interview with his wife Lara Trump on Sunday.

Tapper’s Tense Interview With Lara Trump

Things got tense when Lara appeared on “State Of The Union” as Tapper attacked her for previously appearing to mock Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden for his stutter.

“How do you think it makes little kids with stutters feel when they see you make a comment like this that?” Tapper said as he played a clip of Lara saying back in January that Biden is not able to “get the words out.”

Lara responded by saying that she “had no idea” about Biden’s struggle with stuttering, going on to add, “I think what we see on stage with Joe Biden is very clearly a cognitive decline.”

After she said it made her “uncomfortable” to watch Biden speak, Tapper cut her off, saying, “OK … It’s so amazing to me that … ‘a cognitive decline.’”

Tapper Goes Off On Lara Trump

The CNN host trailed off as Lara once again said that she had been unaware of Biden’s history of stuttering, but he still was not buying it.

“I think you were mocking his stutter, and I think you have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody’s cognitive decline,” Tapper said as Lara tried to speak.

“I would think that somebody in the Trump family would be more sensitive to people who do not have medical licenses diagnosing politicians from afar,” he said. “plenty of people have diagnosed your [father-in-law] from afar … I’m sure it offends you.”

“I’m not diagnosing him,” Lara replied as they kept trying to talk over each other.

“It’s very concerning to a lot of people that this could be the leader of the free world,” she added. “That is all I’m saying. I genuinely feel sorry for Joe Biden.”

Tapper found this last statement to be too “triggering” for him to continue the interview.

“Thank you Lara. I appreciate it,” he said drily. “I’m sure it was from a place of concern. We all believe that.”

Eric Trump Fires Back

Eric immediately took a shot at Tapper on Twitter for being so disrespectful to his wife.

“Lara Trump is a class act and is on [fire emojis]. Jake Tapper is so angry and smug (which is consistent with the general attitude of CNN),” Eric tweeted.
