Kamala Harris Shellshocked By This Latest Shocking Poll

Gallup data released this week showed that people are becoming less favorable of Vice President Kamala Harris while becoming more favorable of former President Donald Trump.

Polls show that Trump is gaining support in the most important months before Election Day. He is also getting past Harris’s “honeymoon phase,” which she went through after replacing Joe Biden at the top of the ticket and getting no Democrat primary votes.

Gallup polls found:

  • Support for Trump has gone up five percentage points since August, to 46% (+5%). Opposition support has gone down to 53% (-2%).
  • Three points less people like Harris now than they did in August: 54 percent (+1) are not positive, while 44 percent (-3) are.
  • Independents seem to be the cause of the different trends. Trump has a 16-point lead over Harris in the approval ratings of independents: Trump has 44% to 53% (net: -9%), and Harris has 35% to 60% (net: -25%).

Gallup said that Trump’s campaign is doing better than his 2016 and 2020 campaigns:

“People feel better about Trump now than they did at the same point in his 2020 and 2016 campaigns. On the other hand, Harris’s good rate is about the same as Biden’s in 2020 and much higher than Clinton’s in 2016.”

“Gallup’s most recent study, from September 3–15, shows that nearly the same number of U.S. adults (46%) like Donald Trump and 44% like Kamala Harris. This was the first time that the candidates debated. Both candidates, though, have more negative than positive scores. It’s seven percentage points higher for Trump to be unpopular than for him to be popular, and it’s ten points higher for Harris.

Harris’s rise in favorability after being unexpectedly nominated as the Democratic presidential choice has leveled off a bit. Trump, on the other hand, is up five points since last month and back to where he was in June.”
