Look How FBI Numbers Have Changed Since Trump Took Over

The FBI released its arrest statistics this week.

The numbers aren’t just better. They’re stunning.

Total violent crime arrests: Nearly 14,000 from January 20 to December 22.

Under Biden: 6,000 to 7,000 annually over four years.

That’s not a marginal improvement. That’s doubling in one year.

FBI Director Kash Patel explained exactly why:

“This is a direct result of the FBI prioritizing taking down violent crime and reorienting the Bureau to focus off of Washington DC and give field personnel more tools they need to be successful in states and localities across the country.”

Buffalo Led the Nation With a 400% Increase in Arrests

The city-by-city breakdown shows the transformation:

Buffalo: Up 400% — from 125 arrests to 642.

Jackson: Up 264% — from 248 to 904.

New York: Up 175% — from 621 to 1,709 (highest total volume).

Nashville: Up 160% — to 871 arrests.

Detroit: Up 151% — from 305 to 765.

These aren’t rounding errors. These are massive increases in every major field office.

Nearly Every Bureau Saw Increases — Only Seattle Declined

The pattern held across the country.

New Orleans saw increases. Miami saw increases. Houston and Dallas saw increases.

Nearly every FBI field office improved its violent crime arrest numbers.

The only exception: Seattle, where arrests fell by 7.5%.

One city in progressive-controlled Washington state bucked the national trend. Everywhere else, the FBI is making America safer.

Patel Shifted Focus Away From Washington and Back to the Field

Under Biden, the FBI prioritized investigations run from headquarters — political cases, January 6th prosecutions, targeting parents at school board meetings.

Patel reversed that:

“Reorienting the Bureau to focus off of Washington DC and give field personnel more tools they need to be successful in states and localities across the country.”

Resources went to field offices. Priorities shifted to actual violent crime. Agents were freed to do their jobs instead of chasing political targets.

The result: Doubled arrests in one year.

The Arrests Include Gangs, Organized Crime, and Child Trafficking

These aren’t minor offenses.

The statistics encompass gang activity, transnational organized crime, and child human trafficking.

MS-13. Cartel operations. Human traffickers exploiting children.

The worst criminals operating in America are being arrested at twice the rate they were under Biden.

That’s not just statistics. That’s children saved. Communities protected. Criminal networks disrupted.

Excluding Child Crimes, Arrests More Than Doubled

The FBI provided a breakdown:

Total arrests excluding crimes against children: Up from 5,778 to 12,901.

That’s more than double — just in the category of violent crime not involving child exploitation.

Add in the child trafficking arrests, and the total picture is even more dramatic.

“Massive Strides in Helping Make America Safer”

Patel summarized the achievement:

“In just one year we have essentially doubled our number of violent crime arrests and made massive strides in helping make America safer than ever before.”

This is what happens when you have an FBI director focused on actual crime rather than political persecution.

This is what happens when field agents get resources instead of bureaucrats in Washington.

This is what happens when the Bureau does its job.

Chicago Crime Dropped After Federal Operations Too

These FBI numbers complement other recent reports.

DHS announced that Chicago crime dropped sharply after federal operations targeting criminal illegal immigrants.

The pattern is consistent: When federal law enforcement prioritizes actual crime, crime goes down.

Biden’s FBI was distracted by political investigations. Trump’s FBI is focused on criminals.

The statistics prove which approach works.

New York Recorded the Highest Volume

New York’s 1,709 arrests led all field offices in total volume.

That’s nearly three times the 621 arrests recorded during comparable Biden-era periods.

New York City has been plagued by violent crime, much of it driven by illegal immigrants and gang activity. The FBI is finally making a dent.

A 175% increase means hundreds more violent criminals off the streets. Hundreds more potential victims protected.

The Biden FBI Was Steady — At a Low Level

The documents show Biden-era arrests “remained steady.”

Steady at 6,000-7,000 annually. Steady at inadequate. Steady while violent crime plagued American cities.

Steady isn’t good when the baseline is failure.

Trump’s FBI didn’t aim for steady. They aimed for results. They got them.

What Changed: Priorities

The difference between 7,000 arrests and 14,000 arrests isn’t more agents. It’s not a bigger budget. It’s priorities.

Biden’s FBI prioritized:

  • January 6th investigations
  • Targeting parents as “domestic terrorists”
  • Political cases against Trump allies
  • Headquarters-driven operations

Trump’s FBI prioritizes:

  • Violent crime
  • Gangs and organized crime
  • Child trafficking
  • Field office empowerment

Same Bureau. Same agents. Different leadership. Double the results.

This Is What “Reorienting” Looks Like

Patel promised to reorient the FBI when he took over.

Critics said it would weaken the Bureau. They said removing political focus would harm national security. They said Patel wasn’t qualified.

The numbers say otherwise.

Doubled violent crime arrests. Increases in nearly every field office. Gangs, cartels, and traffickers getting arrested at unprecedented rates.

That’s not a weakened FBI. That’s an FBI doing its actual job.

“Make America Safer Than Ever Before”

Patel’s goal is ambitious:

“Massive strides in helping make America safer than ever before.”

One year in, the trajectory supports that goal.

If arrest rates continue at this pace, if field offices maintain this focus, if resources keep flowing to actual crime-fighting — America will be measurably safer.

The FBI spent years as a politicized agency that Americans didn’t trust.

Under Patel, it’s becoming what it should always have been: The nation’s premier law enforcement agency, focused on protecting Americans from violent criminals.

14,000 arrests. One year. Double the Biden rate.

That’s the Patel FBI. And it’s just getting started.
