GOP Senator Dr. Rand Paul fired back at Dr. Anthony Fauci after the Biden administration’s top infectious disease specialist declared that he “represented science.”
Paul (R-KY) was responding to an interview Fauci had with CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” in which he became extraordinarily political in attacking lawmakers who supposedly ignore ‘science,’ even invoking the January 6th Capitol riot in criticism of Senator Ted Cruz.
The doctor seems to believe that any criticism of him is a criticism of science as a whole.
“Anybody who’s looking at this carefully realizes that there’s a distinct anti-science flavor to this, so if they get up and criticize science, nobody’s going to know what they’re talking about,” Fauci said.
“But if they get up and really aim their bullets at Tony Fauci, well people can recognize that there’s a person there, so it’s easy to criticize, but they’re really criticizing science because I represent science.”
Lawmakers like Sens. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz have called for Dr. Fauci to step down and be prosecuted over the course of COVID-19. Fauci scoffs at such threats, calling it “noise.”

Rand Paul Mocks The Embodiment Of Science, Anthony Fauci
Senator Rand Paul – a medical doctor – shared a clip of the Fauci interview and blasted the head of the National Institutes of Allergy & Infectious Disease.
“The absolute hubris of someone claiming THEY represent science,” Paul scoffed.
“It’s astounding and alarming that a public health bureaucrat would even think to claim such a thing, especially one who has worked so hard to ignore the science of natural immunity,” he added.

Senator Paul has consistently accused Dr. Fauci of “lying” during Senate testimony about the pandemic response and investigation into the root causes of the COVID-19 outbreak.
“You do not know what you are talking about quite frankly and I want to say that officially,” Fauci responded to the accusations.
Flustered Fauci BTFO by Rand Paul
First admits it IS gain of function to increase transmissibility from animals to humans
Then screams “you don’t know what you’re talking about!”
Then says “it is not” gain of function to increase transmissibility from animals to humans…

Fauci Attacks Ted Cruz Over January 6th
In fact, it is the criticism of Fauci by both Rand Paul and Senator Ted Cruz that likely led to the ‘science’ expert’s partisan outburst.
Paul blasted Fauci for “obfuscating the truth” about the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding gain-of-function research through a Chinese Wuhan lab after the organization seemingly admitted in a letter that a “limited experiment” was indeed conducted.
NIH Director Francis Collins later covered for Fauci claiming the Wuhan experiments did not involve gain-of-function.
Rand Paul grilling Dr Fauci: “Until you accept responsibility, we’re not going to get anywhere close to trying to prevent another lab leak of this dangerous sort of experiment. You won’t admit that it’s dangerous, and for that lack of judgment, I think it’s time that you resign.” pic.twitter.com/L1GNw9Nu9S

Cruz went so far as to suggest Fauci needed to be prosecuted for lying to Congress.
“It’s a crime to knowingly lie to Congress, so I asked AG Garland if he’d appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Fauci,” the Texas Senator tweeted.
In the interview Fauci, rather than explaining why he believes he didn’t lie to Congress, instead harnessed the energy of an Adam Kinzinger, Liz Cheney, or Nancy Pelosi, pivoting to the Capitol riot out of the blue instead.
Brennan: “Cruz told the AG you should be prosecuted.”
Fauci: “Yeah. I have to laugh at that. I should be prosecuted? What happened on Jan. 6th, senator?”
Fauci is openly partisan. He also said, “If you’re attacking me, you’re really attacking science.”https://t.co/3ZkZdvdsLH

Completely reassuring that the leading medical expert in the Biden administration launched what amounts to an ‘I know you are but what am I’ defense.
Cruz, in arguing for election integrity, had proposed to the Senate that Congress should appoint an electoral commission at the time.
Following January 6th, the Republican senator stated “everyone who attacked the Capitol should be fully prosecuted.”
Cruz responded to Fauci’s childish attack by calling him a “smug” man who “lives in a liberal world.”
He then laid out a series of tweets that explained thoroughly why Fauci should be prosecuted for lying to Congress, adding, “No amount of ad hominem insults parroting Democrat talking points will get Fauci out of this contradiction.”
Fauci is an unelected technocrat who has distorted science and facts in order to exercise authoritarian control over millions of Americans.
He lives in a liberal world where his smug “I REPRESENT science” attitude is praised.

Fauci further criticized Republicans and cast himself as the hero of the pandemic.
“I’m just going to do my job and I’m going to be saving lives and they’re going to be lying,” he said.
Fauci is the only consistent individual spearheading the COVID response in the United States, during which over 777,000 Americans have lost their lives.
