It is a republic, not a democracy, as you correctly point out, but now is not the moment to argue. Recently, two prominent opponents of President Trump—one of whom was even tipped to be the 2020 victor who would bring Bad Orange down—have demonstrated that they understand that the actual danger to this faltering nation comes not from the guy they so gladly participated in demonizing, but rather from his adversaries.
Initially, there was the man who Tucker Carlson forever referred to as the “Creepy Porn Lawyer.” The former attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels, Michael Avenatti, is currently serving time for a number of offenses, including fraud and theft. This has given him some time to reflect on the man he believed he might defeat for the presidency in 2020, and whose prosecution he had called for back in 2018. Avenatti has given the entire situation so much thought that he has reversed course and switched his opinions entirely.
He is now even prepared to give a testimony in support of Trump. “The defense has reached out to me,” Avenatti stated on Saturday from the Los Angeles minimum-security facility where he is serving his sentence. “I have been in contact with Trump’s defense for the better part of the year, and I would be more than happy to testify. I am not sure if I will be summoned to testify.”
It was only after he recognized that the entire situation was a farce that Avenatti claimed, “There is no question [the trial] is politically driven because they are concerned that he may be reelected.” I believe it is utterly terrible and heinous that the government is trying to convict Donald Trump in order to keep tens of millions of people from voting for him. If the defendant had been anyone else, we would not be presenting this case now. Without a question, Even people who hate Trump and would never vote for him should be incensed about his political persecution, which is so obvious. The fact that they are not speaks to how far the public square in America has fallen.
Avenatti continued, “I find the single-out of Trump to be extremely troubling.” Four cases is really excessive, and I believe there is a good possibility that this will all backfire and help him win the presidency. This might amount to adding gasoline to his campaign, depending on what transpires. Perhaps. However, a few weeks ago, Avenatti also stated, “You know, I think the case has a lot of difficulties,” in reference to the Stormy Daniels case, which he helped greatly advance in previous years. Now, that does not — I do not want to imply that this means that Trump will escape conviction; on the contrary, I believe he will.”
Then there was former Attorney General Bill Barr, who stated in 2022 that the Republicans had a great chance and “I do not think he should be our choice, the Republican Party nominee.” It would be a grave error to propose to him. Barr asserted on Saturday, nevertheless, that the Biden administration poses a bigger threat to democracy. They seem to have an iron grip on power, in my opinion. They now support the progressive cause. Additionally, they are attempting to silence critics and restrict free speech. I think it is a gang of heavy-handed thugs, and that is where the danger lies.
It’s nice to have that expressed publicly. As the last hope and defender of “our democracy” against an aspiring dictator, the Biden administration is presenting Old Joe to the American people. Since it is completely at odds with the actual truth, it is not merely a lie—it is an offensive lie. However, proponents of the establishment media have never questioned Biden’s handlers on this, and they never will; according to Bill Barr, this is probably the closest the public will ever go to identifying the true threat.
“I think it needs to be a rock-solid, lock-tight, nearly perfect prosecuted case if you are going to bring a case against a sitting president or a former president, who tens of millions of people support, especially in this day and age with how divided we are,” Michael Avenatti stated. Because doing things differently puts the future of the nation in great danger. Yes. It is not Trump who poses a threat to the nation; rather, it is the leftists who are pursuing him.
